On Saturday, November 3rd, the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House hosted its Masquerade Ball (formally known as “Mac Tonight”) at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Our donors, supporters and everyone in attendance came together for the families of our House to raise a total of $463,000!
Our guests dressed in their best attire and started the night off with hors d’oevres, cocktails and bidding on amazing auction items. Everyone got in the spirit of the Masquerade Ball theme by showing up in their elegantly decorated, one-of-a-kind masks!
Our host for the evening, celebrity chef Jamie Gwen, started off our night as guests made their way to their seats for dinner and dessert while they enjoyed a show of incredibly talented gospel choir performers.
The highlight of the evening for many was hearing firsthand from the Rodrigues’ – a family currently staying at the House. With their daughter, Trinity, currently fighting for her life in the hospital, Trinity’s parents and sister took the stage to speak about their emotional journey and how the House has positively impacted their lives and ability to remain hopeful during a difficult time. We were honored to be able to hear from the Rodrigues’ as they embody what it means to have joy in the midst of trial.
As we moved to the live auction portion of the night, prizes such as LA Dodger suite tickets and a helicopter ride were up for grabs, but a crowd favorite was our two adorable puppies that made an appearance and found a home with two lucky winners!
We were also able to honor individuals and groups who give their heart, talent and dedication to supporting our House. Our honorees included:
Doug Kanner – The Spirit of the House Award
Davis Elen Advertising – Corporate Champion Award
Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center – Dr. Stuart Siegel Excellence in Pediatrics Award
