House Information

Staying at the House

  • How can I stay at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House?

Contact your child’s medical team to discuss if your family is a good match for our program. From there, your child’s social worker, nurse or other medical staff will review your eligibility and potentially submit a referral to our House. Due to patient’s treatment changes, delayed departures are frequent and so we are unable to guarantee a room reservation. Room availability is limited and rooms are typically scheduled with <24 hours notice.

  • Who is eligible to stay at Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House?

Families of pediatric patients (through the age of 21) being treated at a local partner facility are generally eligible to stay with us.

  • How long do families usually stay at Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House?

Stays can be as short as one night or as long as several months, and sometimes extend to a year or more, depending on the child's illness and treatment.

  • How much does it cost to stay at Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House?

The actual cost to operate a room is approximately $125 per night. There is a suggested “rate” of $25 per night for each room. This may be covered by the guest family, insurance, CCS or another third-party source. The rate can be any amount and is completely optional – we are happy to adjust based on what the family is comfortable with, including $0. No one is ever turned away because of an inability to pay.
