Ronald McDonald House® Orange County (RMHOC) Raises More Than $440,000 at Annual Soirée: Making Waves for Families

Nearly 350 community members gathered at Paséa Hotel & Spa on October 1, 2026, for the Annual Soirée: Making Waves for Families, presented by The Partner Masters, raising more than $440,000 to support families staying at Ronald McDonald House® Orange County (RMHOC).

The beach-inspired evening brought together philanthropy, entertainment and heartfelt stories in support of families with children receiving medical care in Orange County. The event began with a lively cocktail hour at ‘The Boardwalk’, featuring games, silent auction and live music from Catch a Wave, performing classic Beach Boys favorites.

As the program began, RMHOC Executive Director, Noel Burcelis, kicked things off with a reminder of the vital role the House plays for families.

“Every day at Ronald McDonald House, we have the privilege of caring for families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.” said Burcelis. “We give their family a place to stay close – a place where they can rest, recharge, share a meal, find support, and have moments that feel a little more like home.”

Special recognition was also given to RMHOC Board Chair, Steve Tomassi, for his commitment to the organization.

“His [Steve] commitment goes far beyond a title,” said Doug Kanner, Southern California Chapter Board Chair. “He gives his time, leadership and heart to this organization—and he’s often the person we call when we need help,”

Guests also heard stories from alumni families, including Board member and Partner Masters CEO, Justin Slagle, whose family once relied on RMHOC.

“A few years ago, Ronald McDonald House was there for my family when our daughter was in the hospital. I've been grateful ever since, and it's why I'm proud to serve on the Board of Trustees today,” said Slagle. “Every bid, every gift and every conversation you start about this House helps a family stay close to their child when it matters most.”

The program also highlighted the experiences of the Moradas Family, Ramirez Ramos Family, and Maravillas Family, whose stories shared that the support families receive reaches far beyond one family or one stay. It creates a ripple effect where comfort, friendships, and support are found, and carried forward long after families leave the House.
