Rebecca J. Walsh is the executive vice president, chief legal and compliance officer at Ventura Foods where she leads the Ventura Foods’ legal team and oversees all of the legal affairs of the company. We are grateful and excited to have her join the board and bring her unique talents, expertise and perspectives to further our mission. Shortly after joining our board, Since joining the Board, Rebecca has participated in the Walk for Kids where she led her team to raise over $15,000! She more recently participated in our Charity Golf Tournament where she made waves by signing up an all-women foursome! We can't wait to see what else she has in store.
Rebecca leads the Ventura Foods’ legal team and oversees all of the legal affairs of the company. Her principal areas of focus are compliance and governance, commercial negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, international, regulatory, and providing strategic advice to the company. In 2014, her team was named a Best Legal Department Finalist by Corporate Counsel Magazine. Ms. Walsh serves as the corporate secretary for both Ventura Foods and Flavor Reddy Foods, a minority owned business enterprise. She also serves on the executive leadership team and leads the Ventura Foods’ intellectual property and compliance committees. An accomplished attorney and executive, Rebecca has worked with both large and small companies to achieve their business goals. She has 30 years of experience as a corporate counsel with more than 20 years as a general counsel in a broad range of industries, including technology, foodservice, and sports and entertainment. Immediately prior to joining Ventura Foods, Rebecca was the vice president and general counsel of Catalina Restaurant Group Inc., where she advised management and the board of directors on a variety of strategic, commercial and corporate matters. She also previously served as associate general counsel of Anacomp, Inc., general counsel of The Upper Deck Company, LLC, and was an associate at the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Rebecca is a regular speaker on matters such as compliance, leadership, regulatory, and intellectual property. Ms. Walsh served as a board member for the Women’s Foodservice Forum and was a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. She is also a past President and longstanding board member of the San Diego chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. She received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.).
