  • Who can use a Ronald McDonald Family Room?

    Families with children being treated in the PICU and CVICU on the sixth floor of Children’s Hospital of Orange County are eligible to use our Ronald McDonald Family Room.

  • Where are your Ronald McDonald Family Rooms?

    Our Ronald McDonald Family Room inside of CHOC Children’s is located in the city of Orange, California.  This Ronald McDonald Family Room is located on the sixth floor of CHOC, close to the PICU and CVICU. 

    We have a second Ronald McDonald Family Room is located inside of CHOC Children’s at Mission in the city of Mission Viejo, California.  This Room extends our services to South Orange County and services any family with a child on the 5th floor of Mission Hospital.

  • What services does a Ronald McDonald Family Room provide?

    Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide various services and amenities depending on many factors, including the size of the space available within the hospital and the number of families served.

    Services and amenities provided by the Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC Children's include:
    • A kitchenette stocked with snacks and coffee
    • Living room with a TV
    • Internet access
    • Library with books for children and adults
    • A seating area with a television
    • Four quiet rooms where parents can relax or close their eyes for a few moments

Funding and Operations

  • Who operates Ronald McDonald Family Rooms?

    The Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC Children’s in Orange is operated by the Orange County Ronald McDonald House program, as part of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California. The Orange County Ronald McDonald House is responsible to its own Board of Trustees.
