Using the Family Room

  • Who can use the Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC?

    Families with children being treated in the PICU and CVICU on the sixth floor of CHOC are eligible to use our Ronald McDonald Family Room.

  • Where are your Ronald McDonald Family Rooms?

    Our Ronald McDonald Family Room inside of CHOC is located in the city of Orange, California. This Ronald McDonald Family Room is located on the sixth floor of CHOC, close to the PICU and CVICU. 

    Our second Ronald McDonald Family Room is located inside of CHOC at Mission in the city of Mission Viejo, California.  This Room extends our services to South Orange County and services any family with a child on the 5th floor of Mission Hospital.

    Our third Ronald McDonald Family Room is located inside of Ventura County Medical Center in the city of Ventura, California. This Ronald McDonald Family Room is located on the second floor, close to the PICU and CICU.

    Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide various services and amenities depending on many factors, including the size of the space available within the hospital and the number of families served.

    Services and amenities provided by the Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC include:

    • A kitchen area stocked with snacks, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and water 

    • TV area with couches 

    • Internet access 

    • Library with books for children and adults 

    • Multiple dining areas

  • Who operates the Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC?

    The Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC in Orange is operated by Ronald McDonald House® Orange County (RMHOC), another program of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California®. RMHOC is responsible to its own Board of Trustees.
