Meal of Love

Our Meals of Love program allows volunteer groups to come to the House and make a meal for the families (either breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Meal groups purchase their own ingredients and prepare the meal in IERMH’s full-service kitchens. This allows families to find nourishment and comfort in a shared meal.

  • All meals must prepared and cooked in IERMH’s kitchen, or bought directly from a commercial retail kitchen.
  • All volunteers must be over the age of 14. Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the meal.

Bakers of Love

Much like Meals of Love, IERMH’s Bakers of Love programs, allows volunteer groups to come to the house and bake treats for the families staying in the House.

  • Bring your warmth and your recipes to bake up yummy treats daily from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Bring up to 12 of your friends, family, work group, etc. to create delicious baked goods. This is a great volunteer opportunity for young volunteers!
  • IERMH supplies the kitchen and equipment, your group just needs to bring the ingredients. All baked goods must be prepared on-site or brought directly from a commercial retail kitchen.
  • All volunteers must be over the age of 14. Minors must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the baking session.

Cleaning Project

Many of the families coming to the House arrive in a state of stress and anxiety. They deserve to be welcomed into a home that is clean and inviting. A cleaning project will help create that peace of mind for families as they are going through their time between the hospital and work.

  • Help the House feel more like a home! IERMH supplies the cleaning products, gloves, and tools needed to get the job done. Groups will clean communal spaces of the House, for example: inside, outside and around each floor (we have 3 floors!) but will not be asked to clean guest rooms.
  • We require that all volunteers are 12 years of age or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Family Activity Project

This is for a group that is truly looking to have interaction with the families that are staying in the house. Family Activity Projects are all about bringing the families of the House together for a couple hours of fun!

There is no limit to what this opportunity can be, but popular activities in the past have been BINGO Night, Cupcake Decorating, Afternoon Tea Party, Ice Cream Social, etc. Creativity is key for this volunteer opportunity.
