Maria and Sureimy’s journey to Ronald McDonald House Pasadena began with a 28-hour car ride from Culiacan, Mexico in 2016.
At only 6 months old, Sureimy was diagnosed with cerebral paralysis with spastic quadriparesis. Maria she was told that Sureimy would not be able to walk or speak and would be confined to a wheelchair. But Maria found care for Sureimy at Shriners Children’s and a place to stay at Ronald McDonald House Pasadena.
Sureimy loves to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. She shares her favorite things at the House are “playing board games with the other kids, arts and crafts, and hanging out in the backyard.” Maria is grateful for the helpful staff, who offer a listening ear and help to navigate the city.
Maria and Sureimy have returned to the House two more times. At Ronald McDonald House Pasadena, “we have a roof over our heads and a safe place to call home.”
