The WLA House has allowed the family to remain together and to focus fully on Perla’s treatment and recovery.
The Lara Family arrived at the Westside Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (WLA) on February 18, 2025. Before this, they had been staying in local hotels and Airbnbs to remain close to UCLA Children’s Hospital, where their daughter Perla is receiving treatment. While those arrangements offered a temporary solution, the financial strain quickly added another layer of stress during an already difficult time.
Perla’s mother, Priscilla, shared that being able to stay just minutes from the hospital has made an enormous difference, especially with a younger sibling to care for. The WLA House has allowed the family to remain together and to focus fully on Perla’s treatment and recovery. As she explained, “Having a home near the hospital has been one less worry for our family and has made everything as easy as it can be.”
The Lara Family expressed deep gratitude for the WLA House, which has provided not only a safe and welcoming place to stay but also peace of mind. As her mother reflected, “Not worrying about where we’re going to sleep has given me the chance to focus on Perla, her health, and my family.”
