With this, the mission is to reduce oral disease through collaborative programs aimed at disease prevention, oral health education, access to treatment and advocacy. The Santa Ana-based nonprofit believes every child should have access to oral health care. RMHCSC is supporting those efforts by awarding a $10,000 grant to support their Oral Health Prevention and Education Program. The program provides school-based oral health prevention (i.e. screenings, fluoride varnish) and education to 30,000 children through two ‘Smile Mobile,’ RV units, two-chair clinics serving 60 schools.
GRANT WILL PROVIDE:
10,000 toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss
5,000 dental toys that promote oral hygiene (toothbrush caps, timers, stuffed animals, mirrors, mask, gowns, tray covers and stickers)
150 three sided toothbrushes (special needs) and goody bags
12,000 educational/promotional collaterals (posters, flyers, coloring books that promote oral hygiene)
