Juliana Joseph Williams was born in a Tanzanian village with deformities in both legs that required her to walk on her knees.
This year, Juliana’s father carried the teenager nearly two miles on his back to arrange for her to be examined by a convoy of U.S. doctors providing care in the African country.
The team of doctors made arrangements for Juliana to be treated in Southern California and to stay at the Orange County Ronald McDonald House while being fit with new prosthetic legs. Juliana, under the care of her guardian Lynn Elliott, has enjoyed her trip to Southern California where she’s made new friends, been introduced to nail polish, Justin Bieber and fashion.
America has given Juliana new legs and the promise of her first steps; the Orange County Ronald McDonald House has provided her the comforts of home, even while thousands of miles away.
