Forty years ago, a group of committed doctors and community members came together to make a difference for families of children with a life-threatening medical condition. Not long after, they broke ground on what would become the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House, the first Ronald McDonald House Charities program in Southern California. Over the years, our Chapter has grown from a single 16-room facility into a pillar of the Southern California medical community: six Ronald McDonald Houses (187 total rooms), two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, and a world-class camp program for children impacted by cancer and their families: Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times. We are grateful to the thousands of families and volunteers who have filled our first forty years with so much hope and love, and we look forward to another forty years of Keeping Families Close!
