SHINE Gala: Moonlit Magic Honors Community Heroes

Ronald McDonald House Pasadena celebrated a dazzling evening under the glow of a harvest moon next to Pasadena City Hall to raise critical funds for families and children receiving medical care. Over 270 guests came together to celebrate the contributions of our community honorees, Pasadena’s Police and Fire Departments, for their longstanding partnerships with the House as well as their critical role in our community.

Executive Director, Mara Leong-Maguinez, shared, "It was an incredibly scary time for all of us, including the families who were staying at the House. I want to recognize everyone who helped to make sure our families were safe, secure, and prepared. In the months that have followed the devastating fires, we have been continuously reminded of the importance of our community of support. For the families staying with us, Ronald McDonald House Pasadena is their home...and we are their family. We take that duty and responsibility very seriously. Your support ensures their safety and comfort during the moments when they need it most.” Guests also had the esteemed honor of hearing the Tejerina family’s story of resilience as they care for their daughter, Valentina.
