Your support helps give Tristan reasons to smile.
The Family-Centered Care you make possible has ensured that — from the moment their journey with us began — Tristan and his mom could find healing together. Whether it was during their time at the House or more recently at Camp, every fun memory they created and every moment of peace they were able to embrace has made a difference.
When 8-month-old Tristan was diagnosed with cancer, his mother, Issa, faced an impossible situation. They were hundreds of miles from home for his treatment, with no support and nowhere to stay.
So, the hospital called the local Ronald McDonald House®. And because of supporters like you, the House didn’t provide just a room for the family. It provided a community of support, vital resources, and hope during an overwhelming time. From helping with laundry to providing meals and even vouchers for essential supplies, everyone at the House made sure Issa and Tristan had anything and everything they could ever need.
“They took good care of him. If I needed help with him or anything, they were there.”
And Issa is eternally grateful: “Without your donations and help, we wouldn’t be here right now,” she says. Because of the House, she was able to stay close to Tristan during critical medical treatments without worrying about finding an affordable place to stay or transportation.
The support for Issa and Tristan didn’t end when his treatment ended, either. Tristan and Issa attend Family Camp in the spring to reconnect with the Ronald McDonald House community. Camp becomes a week of healing, when children like Tristan —and their families! — can experience joy, build confidence, and connect with others who understand their journey. At Camp, Tristan discovered new passions like archery and rock climbing, and Issa got essential moments of rest and relaxation.
These moments are possible only because of your gifts. Together, we can continue supporting families like Tristan’s when they need it most.
