You Gave the Comfort of Home to Scarlett’s Family

Scarlett, now age 5, was just 3 days old when she had her first surgery for hypoplastic left heart syndrome. She’s had five major surgeries since then, and in January, Scarlett received a long-awaited new heart.

During these difficult years, her family has been so grateful for your generosity, which ensured they could find support at the House near the hospital where Scarlett has spent much of her young life — and focus on her.

From warm meals to a safe, private space to rest, the House has provided crucial support.

For Scarlett’s mother, Sugey, the House has been a haven and provided crucial support during some of the most challenging moments. “I spent all day at the hospital, so coming to the House to relax, take a shower, and have a meal really helps,” she shared.

Sugey also appreciated that the staff checked in to see how they were doing and offered assistance. And as Scarlett entered kindergarten, having a teacher to work with helped her keep up when she missed school.

Thanks to compassionate friends like you, Sugey and Scarlett know they can return to the House while doctors carefully monitor Scarlett’s new heart. Every donation ensures that families can stay together — and heal together — surrounded by hope and comfort.

Together, we are giving families the gift of togetherness!
