“There’s No Place Like Home” Gala: A Night of Unforgettable Generosity
Last month, the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House held its 2nd annual “There’s No Place Like Home” Gala, where generosity and love overflowed as supporters gathered to make an impact for families with critically ill children. The event featured inspiring stories, heartfelt acknowledgments, and a renewed commitment to LARMH’s mission of providing comfort, care, and support to families during their most challenging times. The evening celebrated three honorees whose dedication has elevated LARMH’s impact. Melanie Kirschner was honored as this year’s “House Hero” for her unwavering dedication and advocacy. The legacy of Melanie Pozez and Jay Blumberg was recognized by Nick Koutouras and Heidi Huebner, recipients of the “Heart of the House” award, a tribute to their visionary impact that continues to inspire LARMH's mission. A deeply moving moment was shared by the Smitherman family, who courageously told their story, reminding everyone of the importance of LARMH’s services. The evening also honored Children's Hospital Los Angeles with the “Heart and Hands Award,” recognizing their invaluable partnership and shared dedication to helping families in need. As LARMH approaches its 45th anniversary in 2025, we are more committed than ever to serving more families better, uniting the community, and expanding our mission. The gala highlighted LARMH’s legacy and the collective impact made possible by supporters, sponsors, and the entire LARMH family. Together, we raised almost $300,000 for our families. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening that will forever remain a part of our history. Together, we will continue making a difference in the lives of countless families when they need it most.
