Job Title: Operations Director

FLSA Status: Full Time/Exempt
Salary Range: $85k - $90k/year

Summary: The Operations Director is responsible for managing all the Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times property and facilities to ensure all are well maintained and in compliance with state and local regulatory and ACA requirements. She/he is responsible for oversight of Camp facility development including capital projects. The position supervises the facilities department, emphasizing and modeling core values of compassion, integrity, respect, innovation and transparency.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Camp Site Operations:

  • Provide leadership and knowledge to advance site and facilities’ operational excellence in serving children with special needs and their families.
  • Lead site staff efforts to develop annual site and facility goals
  • Supervise food, supplies, and equipment ordering, and arrange for proper distribution.
  • Supervise and evaluate all operations staff. Assign activities and other responsibilities.
  • Define and monitor crisis management plans, including emergency procedures. In coordination with program staff, monitor safety and all procedures pertaining to the complete supervision of facilities and rental groups.
  • Provide leadership in developing organizational and financial plans with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and other staff as it relates to the operations of the camp site. Maintain fiscal responsibility for site budgets and support oversite of construction budgets.
  • Maintain official records and documents, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, especially as they pertain to camping accreditation.
  • In coordination with the site operations staff, develop and execute yearly site and facilities maintenance plans. Conduct an annual review of the plans and make revisions where necessary.
  • In coordination with the site operations staff and the camp program team, develop and execute Camp session-specific maintenance plans for when camp programs are in session.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance work parties that engage volunteers for routine, periodic and special projects and coordination with internal staff for food service, site preparation, and supervision

Camp Site Scheduling and Usage:

  • Participate in the planning for future Camp program schedules.
  • Coordination of site use by in-house programs (Camp Program - summer and weekend) and coordination with internal staff for food service and site preparation
  • Marketing. Scheduling and facilitation of outside rental groups, including scheduling with groups and coordination with internal staff for food service, site preparation, programming, and supervision
  • Coordinate with the Executive Director to develop rental group and income goals for each budget cycle. Provide regular updates to Executive Director on rental goals

Camp Site Development:

  • Act as a resource for the construction process.
  • Property master planning development and implementation - coordination with internal CRMFGT staff/volunteers/facilities committee/board, consultants (civil, architectural and associated engineers) and the County of Riverside Planning Department to maintain current and valid Conditional Use Permit
  • New construction/major renovation management - implementation of master plan, coordination in the selection of qualified architects, engineers and contractors for building out and day-to-day management/quality control of the process.

Other Essential Duties:

  • Represent Camp at the local and national levels to share best practices around camp site operations
  • Monitor safety and all procedures pertaining to the complete supervision of all campers and staff.
  • Provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among the entire Camp.
  • Provide leadership in developing site and financial plans with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees and other staff. Participate in staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  • Support Camp special events.
  • Assist the Board of Trustees in maintaining and promoting the vision and mission of the camp site and facilities. Initiate and assist in recommending and developing policies and setting priorities.
  • Serve as staff liaison to Board of Trustee committees as appropriate.
  • Provide for adequate supervision, goal setting and evaluation of key staff and volunteers.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7 to 10 years of experience in senior-level management. Prior Camp facility management and oversite experience desired.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • General knowledge and demonstrated experience with office management; knowledge of the organizations and operations of administrative programs; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public; ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Operation Manager, Operation Associate, Seasonal Maintenance Staff, Food Service Manager

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as annual budget needs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Solve problems with a variety of concrete variables and limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook
